To find what is usually hidden underneath the surface pretence of white goods domestic objects and domestic enviroments. A cross section enables the viewer to uncover all aspects of the given object or form, creating a dissection for analysis to gain partial knowledge to estimate the whole. The slice creates an autobiographical layer of socially concealed architectural and anthropological family meaning. |

HOUSE SLICE (Dissection) Dissection is a short experimental short film funded by the Australian Film Council that was a progression and combination from earlier sculptural /installation works. Cutting a double brick, double story house in half, was and still is the pinnacle of these works as it exposes and illiterates all my concepts of dissecting the domestic life. The film was conceived by collaborating with Director/filmmaker Callum Cooper, which allowed the house to be more than a sculpture it became the antagonist. |
